Only distance education during the rest of the semester

The Public Health Agency of Sweden has decided to instate stricter general guidelines in Uppsala. This means that the Department of Modern Languages changes to distance education only, effective immediately. The decision applies until the end of the semester, 17 January 2021, but may be extended.

Update 20 November: Following a new decision by the vice-chancellor, all education will be online during the rest of the semester

The agency's decision is a reaction to the ongoing local outbreak of Covid-19 in Uppsala and its aim is to slow down the spreading of the disease. The concrete recommendations are to avoid public transport and to avoid physical contact with people outside your household.

Since the stricter general guidelines make on-site education impossible, the department has decided that all education will change to distance learning. The department staff will also work from home to the greatest degree possible, to counteract the disease.
