2021-02-04

Our seminar programmes for the spring semester 2021 are ready. The Finno-Ugric seminar, the German seminar, the Romance seminar and the Uppsala Travel Writing Seminar will arrange some 15 events together. All will be held online. The Slavic seminar and the seminar for Romance literary studies will take a break during the 2021 spring semester.

If you understand French you will be able to learn about translations of curses, from Swedish to French, in Jenny Jägerfeld's novel "Me on the Floor, Bleeding". If you are German-Speaking you can learn about linguistic birthday gifts. And in English you can learn about "Quantifiers of Factual Proximity and Counterfactuality in Romance".

In the Uppsala Travel Writing Seminar, which is arranged in cooperation with the Department of Literature, you can learn more about travel literature from the GDR (In Swedish) and about fashion and ethnography in eighteenth-century scholarly travel writing (In English).

The German seminar series is presented in German while the Romance seminar has a mix of French, English and Swedish.

The seminars are primarily intended for PhD students, teachers and researchers, but interested students, and others are most welcome.

Due to the restrictions due to the pandemic, three of the seminar series have decided to take a break during the spring semester. They will hopefully be active again come autumn.

The seminar series are presented on a separate web page, where you also find the current programmes.
