2021-03-17

We live in a time of common challenges on a great scale. The pandemic and the climate crisis are two of the more apparent ones. They are also examples of challenges where science is expected to come up with solutions. Next semester, autumn 2021, a new evening course starts. A course where you will learn to critically analyse narratives of how science tackles societal crises.

In the multidisciplinary course “Fact and Fiction: Science, Societal Crises and the Role of Individuals in Literature” you will meet teachers from five different subjects. Using material and perspectives from different disciplines, the course sheds light on questions that arise when researchers communicate with media and with society in general. As a participant, you learn to critically analyse fiction narratives about how science tackles societal crises like pandemics and climate change.

The course “Fact and Fiction: Science, Societal Crises and the Role of Individuals in Literature” award 7,5 credits and is offered as an evening course with classes on campus. The Department of Modern Languages is responsible for the course.

N.B. The course is only offered in Swedish
