Christina Kullberg, professor of French, especially French and Francophone literatures, is the contributor of the Caribbean perspective in a new history of literature, which will be published at the beginning of May. “Natur & Kulturs litteraturhistoria” is written with the ambition to cover the entire literature of the world from the first writing systems to today’s e-books, and to become the new standard work of literary history for students of comparative literature in Sweden.

“Natur & Kulturs litteraturhistoria” has a chronological approach, with one main author for each century. More than 20 experts in different fields have made contributions that have been entered into the chronological weave. Christina Kullberg is a leading expert in French post-colonial and Caribbean literature and her contribution is about Caribbean literature from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, until now.

Uppsala University is also represented by Ingela Nilsson, professor of Greek, at the Department of Linguistics and Philology, Johan Svedjedal, professor of literature and Otto Fischer, professor of rhetorics, both at the Department of Literature.

“Natur & Kulturs litteraturhistoria” will be published on May 6.
