There are several publication series about the department's language areas. Some are distributed by the university library and others by the department, much is available online. Here is a list of the different series.
SERIEs in ACTA UNIVERSITATIS UPSALIENSIS
Four series are part of Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis, the university library's coordination of scholarly publication. These are distributed by the university library and can be bought in their online shop. These series contain scholarly publications, including theses.

- Studia Romanica Upsaliensia - Romance languages
- Studia Slavica Upsaliensia - Slavic languages
- Studia Uralica Upsaliensia - Finno-Ugric languages
There are additional publications in the Diva portal. There are links to all publications on the website under research and the different language groups.
Series sold by the department
The series below are sold by the departmental office and can also be ordered by email. The departmental office also sells some compendiums and course material, as specified in the course syllabus, as well as copies of degree projects.
Finno-Ugric Study Material
The department publishes a series of Finno-Ugric study material.
Opuscula Uralica is a series in the Finno-Ugric languages. It consists of freestanding works of a limited scope, e.g. master theses, and volumes with articles on a common theme.
Slavic handbooks and course material
The department publishes a seies of Slavic handbooks and course material.
Slavic specialised dictionaries
The Slavic specialised dictionaries cover different subjects, so far dictionaries have been published that cover e.g. birds, fungus and medical terms.
The series Ursus contains works on Uralic languages and people, mainly in Swedish.
journals associated with the department
Moderna språk is an online, peer reviewed journal of English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian languages, literatures and cultures. The main target group is researchers and language teachers at universities and schools worldwide. Moderna språk is published in collaboration by the Department of Modern Languages, Uppsala University and the Department of Romance Studies and Classics at Stockholm University
Slovo is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Department of Modern Languages at Uppsala University. The journal publishes articles and reviews within the field of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures; news about current activities within Slavic studies at the Department; and a complete annual bibliography of publications by Slavists affiliated with Uppsala University.
Studia Neophilologica is a peer reviewed journal publishes on English, German and Romance languages and literatures, from the Middle Ages to the present, as well as reviews of new books. Studia Neophilologica is published in a printed and in an online edition, on behalf of the Society for Studia Neophilologica, based at the Department of Modern Languages.
